Hey guys! So i guess its decent and just right to blog something about my profile before anything else, so you don't go off like "who the F*ck is this Ashley and bla bla bla" right?
Full Name is Monica Katarina Ashley Camino Jordan. People usually call me Ashley or Monica. Some friends call me Moe or Ash but the crazy ones call me Ze Bomb, Bertuda or GaGa. I do get a lot from people that i have a long name but damn if they'd only know Akon's real name (Its Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam). And no matter how much I'd love to say I'm related to the great Michael Jordan, but unfortunately I'm not.
I'm a
Multiracial baby. My mom's Chinese-Spanish Filipino While my dad's Bajan (From Barbados in the Caribbean Islands, and yea that's where RiRi came from). Basically I was born in the States. Spent some years there but grew up in The Philippines. I'm an only child but i do have half sisters from my dad. Even though I only get to spend a little time with them i treasure those moments. It is hard being the middle but its fun cause i get to be neutral when both of my sisters are fighting Hahaha! and oh all three of us have three first names and amazingly have 1 in our birthdates (Mine's May 1, Erica's December 1 and Amanda's March 11). My family is a bit of complicated to understand but I love each member to death.
Educational Background? I spent my Grade School and High School in Davao City upto the year 2009, and just finished a College degree of BA Asian Studies in UST, Manila this year. Planning to get my MA but let's just wait and see what happens in the next few months. I don't want anything to get jinx yet. Haha!

I do love to travel and its been my dream to be just everywhere and try to experience everything that there is. I'm not planning to settle in one place any sooner. I just feel that while i'm still young, i should enjoy life to the fullest! My favorite motto is "to live by the moment". Life's real mean is to achieve happiness, and that 's what i'm doing. :) will do try to make a photo album compilation of places i've been to when i get older. Each does tell a different story of experiences.
(Brace yourself, here comes the bragging rights)
I speak 3 dialects in Filipino (Ilonggo, Cebuano and Tagalog) due to my mom's side of the family and the environment i was growing up in. I do know Chinese because i was in a Chinese school for 10 years. Joined some Chinese writing and oration competitions inside and outside school. I know a lil bit of Spanish because of a 2 semester subject in College. And obviously, I'm fluent in English.
At a young age i was exposed to many things. There was the Arts and Dance. i learn to appreciate music and love dancing. While my mom was finishing her senior year college in Vermont, i would be on stage or in studios to watch her practice dancing. At the age of 3 i was dancing ballet and a lil bit of interpretative dancing a long the way. I also played the piano at the age of 6. Then there was the exposure to Sports. I played tennis at the age of 5 or 6. It was a thing in our family cause my mom's family are full of tennis players from my Lolo/Lola to my uncles/aunts to my cousins. And plus my dad is a pro tennis coach. I was even offered at the age of 9 to train in Manila with the Philippine Team because the coach had seen some potential in me to be a tennis champion within just a year or two. But declined it anyway because my mom said i was too young. At the age of 8 i also joined a swimming summer clinic and fell in love with the water. At the age of 10 i started to join swimming competitions.

With all of these activities plus school, you bet it was eating a lot of my time and it was too much for me as kid. My schedule was packed and only had Sunday as my rest day. Then my mom told me i had to choose which activity to keep because being a honor student at school, she doesn't want that to get affected. I understood my mom clearly and that education is important. People said i should have chosen to keep playing tennis because "it was the right track for me" but i had no regrets in choosing to keep on swimming (A Sport was a better choice back then because schools give scholarships for student-athletes). I do admit that sacrificing my ballet, piano and tennis for swimming and school had to be the biggest sacrifice i have done in my life so far. Then again, i consider swimming as a blessing to me.
This sport made me meet people that i never would've imagined to meet and surprisingly became a big part in my life; plus this sport has helped me with my college studies because i was a scholar by the university.
I was fortunate enough to go back to dancing during my college days through a Dance group of my major name
Furasia in which me and my colleagues formed. I do still play the piano sometimes whenever i see one. Its just that Music and Dancing has always given me a feeling of being free. It just makes me so alive inside that I couldn't describe.
Yes, I still had my Sundays as my only rest day and i'd still miss out and had to catch up with my friends with what was the latest "chikka". But now i am older, it didn't really bother me. My friends are also old enough to forgive me and understand the busy life i have. Balance is really needed in life no matter what.To sum up everything? I think I'm just happy with what God has given me and the choices i've made whether they were bad or good ones. I'm not perfect and there'll always be people who will keep on hating. Its just a lesson that one simply cant please everybody. What counts are the back up and supporters. For one, my Family and friends do help in keeping me sane every now and then. I hope yours too :)
There it is! I hope this blog fed some of your curiosities about me. Don't worry, in the next posts i'll share some of my "other" backgrounds in between updates of my life. Perhaps about love? i guess its a way of keeping this blog interesting. Hahaha! Later :P
